Mumbai: A festive photoshoot, a Pakistani drama song and a comment section full of excited fans! Neil Nitin Mukesh’s latest Instagram post has caught the attention of Dar-e-Nijaat viewers, with some even imagining him as an Indian version of its character Abu Bakar.

The actor shared a series of pictures wearing a black outfit with gold detailing. Captioning the post, “Stepping into the festive season in style,” Neil posed for the camera in a sharply styled ethnic look. However, his apparent choice of a song from the Pakistani drama soon became a talking point.

Fans call him ‘Indian Abu Bakar’

The comments section featured several references to Dar-e-Nijaat. “Perfect for Indian Abu Bakar,” one user wrote, while another pointed out that the track was a Pakistani song. Another fan commented, “Dar e nijaat drama is best.”

Others praised Neil’s music taste, with one commenter linking it to his grandfather, legendary singer Mukesh. The reactions visible on the post were largely appreciative, with fans clearly enjoying the unexpected connection.

Was the song removed?

The audio appears to have been removed later, although this remains unconfirmed. The screenshots do not establish whether Neil removed it himself or whether its absence was related to the comments.

For now, the comments have given Dar-e-Nijaat fans something else to discuss: could Neil pull off an Indian Abu Bakar?
