Dhubri had also recorded a high number of arrests during the statewide anti-child marriage drive on December 22, 2024, when 68 people were arrested in the district. During that operation, 42 people were reportedly apprehended from the then South Salmara-Mankachar district.

The latest crackdown marks a renewed push against child marriage across Assam, with Dhubri once again emerging as a major focus of the police operation. Further details are awaited as the drive continues.
