Hyderabad: The Goshamahal Traffic Police conducted a road safety awareness programme for TGSRTC bus drivers at the Regional Training Centre at MGBS on Wednesday, highlighting the importance of safe driving under the theme ‘Arrive Alive – Drive Safely, Reach Safely’.

The programme focused on traffic regulations, road safety measures and precautions to prevent accidents. Drivers were advised to adhere to speed limits, avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, refrain from using mobile phones while driving, and follow traffic signals, road signs, and lane discipline.

They were also instructed to pick up and drop passengers only at designated bus stops, remain alert to pedestrians and two-wheeler riders, take adequate rest before driving and ensure their vehicles were roadworthy.

Officials stressed that every passenger’s life was precious and that drivers must prioritise safety over reaching destinations a few minutes early. A road safety pledge was administered to the drivers, who vowed to follow traffic rules, prevent accidents and protect human lives.
