Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Nucelion Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Bharat Biotech, and Bengaluru’s Pandorum Technologies have announced a manufacturing partnership to advance two Promotion of Research and Innovation in Pharma-MedTech (PRIP)-backed ophthalmology projects targeting advanced keratopathy and wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD), a press release said.

The collaboration combines Pandorum’s designer-exosome platform, focusing on cell-free regenerative medicines that address inflammation, fibrosis, and vascular pathology, with Nucelion’s expertise in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) process development and manufacturing.

The initiative aims to support clinical studies both in India and internationally. The projects feature a combined planned outlay of Rs 16.97 crore, which includes up to Rs 8 crore in funding under the PRIP scheme.

Dr. Raghu Malapaka, Chief Business Officer for Nucelion said that it is important to translate product requirements into reproducible processes with built-in quality.

Dr. Tuhin Bhowmick, Co-founder and CEO of Pandorum, said that the partnership connects their designer-exosome platform to rigorous manufacturing capabilities under the ‘Innovate and Make in India, for the World’ vision.
