New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday alleged that the Tata Group was being “criminally destroyed” and claimed that no business leader dared to speak out, asserting that “we will ensure justice for these crimes”.

Gandhi’s remarks came amid a bitter dispute over the leadership of Tata Sons, which has reportedly divided trustees and spilled into the company’s boardroom.

Earlier this week, Tata Trusts chairman Noel Tata challenged the resolution to reappoint N Chandrasekaran as chairman of Tata Sons. The resolution was passed at the September 17 board meeting of the holding company of the Tata Group.

In a post on X, Gandhi said, “Tata is being criminally destroyed, and no business leader dares say a word. How long will you stay silent? Until they own you?”

Indian business was not a plaything of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha said.

“You lack courage. We don’t. We will ensure justice for these crimes,” Gandhi said.

There was no immediate reaction from the government or the Tata Group to Gandhi’s allegations.
