Sanitation workers dump garbage outside woman’s house in Nelamangala

Bengaluru: A dispute between a woman and municipal sanitation workers over garbage clearance escalated in Nelamangala, where the workers allegedly dumped a tractor-load of waste outside her house in protest.
The incident occurred in Weaver’s Colony, where a woman identified as Puttamma, a resident of Ward 14, reportedly argued with sanitation worker Ashok Kumar while he and his colleagues were engaged in cleaning work near a stormwater drain.
According to reports, Puttamma insisted that the workers clear the garbage in front of her house before attending to other areas. The disagreement over the sequence of cleaning operations reportedly led to a heated exchange between the woman and the sanitation worker.
The woman allegedly abused Ashok Kumar during the argument, triggering anger among the sanitation workers. In response, the workers reportedly brought a tractor-load of garbage and emptied it outside her house to express their protest.
The incident has drawn attention locally, as the confrontation took place during a public sanitation operation intended to keep the neighbourhood clean. The dispute also highlights the challenges faced by civic workers while carrying out waste clearance and drainage cleaning in residential areas.
However, the circumstances surrounding the confrontation and the allegations made by both sides would need to be established independently.
The episode has sparked discussion among residents about the treatment of sanitation workers and the need to resolve disagreements without disrupting essential civic services. Garbage clearance and stormwater drain maintenance are important public health responsibilities, and disputes over the work can affect the entire neighbourhood.
