Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police arrested a 27-year-old driver on Thursday, October 29, for allegedly stalking and harassing a woman, threatening to circulate her personal photographs and repeatedly contacting her despite repeated police warnings and counselling.

N Veera Venkata Santhosh Durga works at AMR Group in Hyderabad. He hails from Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district and is a distant relative of the victim. In 2022, they fell in love, but she decided to end the relationship citing his suspicious and controlling behaviour.

Santosh Durga did not take the rejection well and started a cycle of stalking, harassing and threatening to leak their personal photographs to her family, relatives and friends if she refused his proposal.

She approached the SHE Team in Gachibowli, who counselled him and made him write an application that he would not disturb her in future. Police said he continued to follow the woman, contact her using different mobile numbers and visited her residence and workplace.

Frustrated and annoyed, she lodged a complaint at Madhapur Police Station in 2025, following which a case was registered. Another round of counselling, warnings and notices were issued, but the harassment continued.

On October 28, he went to her workplace at Tech Mahindra in Hitech City and took photographs without her knowledge.

The woman approached Madhapur Police again, seeking legal action and protection from the accused’s continued harassment.

This time, he was arrested and sent to judicial remand.
