Moto Guzzi Trip 500 is equipped with the familiar 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine used by the RS 457 and Tuono 457 kicking out close to 48 hp

Moto Guzzi has taken the wraps off its new middleweight roadster, the Trip 500, which brings the Aprilia 457 platform into the Italian brand’s portfolio. Production will take place at Piaggio’s Baramati facility in Maharashtra – the same plant responsible for the Aprilia RS 457 and Tuono 457. European sales are scheduled to begin in early 2027 and the motorcycle will make a public appearance at EICMA 2026 in Milan next week.

Power comes from the 457 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine used by the RS 457 and Tuono 457. Moto Guzzi quotes output at close to 48 hp – putting the Trip 500 within European A2 licence requirements. The Aprilia version develops 47.6 hp and 43.5 Nm but Trip 500 calibration focuses more on accessible torque from lower engine speeds. A six-speed transmission handles gear changes.

The Trip 500 also shows a major break from Moto Guzzi’s traditional transverse V-twin motorcycles. Its styling follows a barebones roadster theme centred around a round LED headlamp, sculpted metal fuel tank of 15 litres in capacity, blacked-out parallel-twin engine and alloy wheels. Moto Guzzi has incorporated its eagle motif into the headlamp graphics and “The Trip” embroidery appears on the seat.

Running weight stands at 180 kg and seat height starts at 790 mm. Electronics consist of Ride-by-Wire throttle control and three riding modes named Road, Sport and Rain. A circular 3.6-inch TFT console supports smartphone connectivity and Moto Guzzi also offers pictogram navigation. However, quickshifter functionality is available as an accessory. Backlit switchgear and full-LED lighting round out a very decent features list.

Moto Guzzi will sell the roadster in three colour schemes namely Black Metropolis, Green Grove and Red Beat. A launch edition called The Opening will also join the lineup as well. The Trip 500 will be displayed at EICMA 2026 from November 3 to 8 at the Moto Guzzi stand in Hall 9 before reaching dealerships in Europe early next year.

The Baramati production link gives the Trip 500 a direct connection to India but it is unknown whether the motorcycle will be considered for sales domestically or not. Considering the popularity of the upper middleweight class, it could be one of the interesting options. At the same EICMA event, RE is set to introduce its flagship Himalayan 750 while TVS’ Norton has plans for a roadster 450 single as well.
