Former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda has died at the age of 90, officials said Monday. He served as Japan’s prime minister from 2007 to 2008 and was known for promoting closer relations with China, including during his engagement with Chinese President Hu Jintao. The son of former Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda, he entered parliament in 1990 after working in the private sector.
