Hyderabad: 50-year-old auto driver arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting stepdaughter in Balapur

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old auto-rickshaw driver was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his 15-year-old stepdaughter five times over a month at Balapur.

According to police, the suspect had married the girl’s mother, who already had a daughter studying in Class VI. He allegedly sexually assaulted the minor on five occasions over the past month by threatening her.

He also warned the girl that he would kill her mother if she disclosed the abuse to anyone.

The matter came to light recently, following which the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with the Adibatla police. The police registered a case under the POCSO Act and arrested him on Friday. He was produced before the court for remanding in judicial custody.
