One killed, two critically injured as car overturns in Vikarabad district

Hyderabad: A person was killed and two others suffered critical injuries after a speeding car overturned near Pamen Gate in Chevella mandal of Vikarabad district. Another occupant escaped with minor injuries.

According to police, the car was proceeding towards Pamen Gate when the driver reportedly lost control near a bridge and the vehicle overturned, landing on the opposite side of the road. On noticing the accident, motorists and locals alerted an ambulance and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

The occupants were identified as Raj Kumar Goud, Murali Goud, Oggu Venkatayya and Karla Shivakumar, all from Potgal village in Shabad mandal. Raj Kumar died on the spot due to severe injuries, while two others sustained critical injuries. They were later shifted to Continental Hospital in Hyderabad for better treatment.

Meanwhile, locals suspect that besides overspeeding, the accident could have been caused by the road caving in on a small bridge constructed to facilitate the flow of rainwater. They pointed out that a similar accident had occurred at the same spot earlier, claiming the life of a person from Potgal village.
