MG ranked third at 5,877 units. The top three manufacturers together sold 28,901 EVs from the 35,777 units listed across the 10 brands in the supplied table.
VinFast occupied fourth place at 2,565 units and sat well below MG but comfortably ahead of the next manufacturer. Kia ranked fifth at 1,386 units, followed by Maruti Suzuki at 1,188 units. Only 198 units separated Kia and Maruti, creating one of the closest contests in the middle of the ranking.
Hyundai and BYD were even closer. Hyundai recorded 753 units and took seventh place, just 18 units ahead of BYD at 735 units. Toyota ranked ninth at 189 units, and Stellantis completed the table at 60 units. The gap from BYD to Toyota stood at 546 units, followed by another 129-unit difference between Toyota and Stellantis.

Tata Motors PV sold more EVs than Mahindra and MG individually by a substantial margin. Its October tally exceeded MG sales by 8,675 units and stood 11,987 units above fourth-placed VinFast. Mahindra also kept a comfortable lead over MG, finishing the month 2,595 units ahead of the third-placed manufacturer.
A sharp volume break appeared after the top three. MG recorded more than double VinFast sales, and VinFast posted nearly twice Kia volume. Kia and Maruti Suzuki formed the only two manufacturers in the 1,000-1,500-unit band, before sales fell below 800 units from Hyundai onward.

The contest between Hyundai and BYD was the tightest anywhere in the EV table. Their 18-unit gap was far smaller than the 198-unit difference between Kia and Maruti Suzuki. Toyota and Stellantis occupied the final two positions, and both stayed well below the monthly volumes posted by the first eight manufacturers.
Tata Motors, Mahindra and MG collectively supplied more than four-fifths of the EVs shown in the source table. VinFast added another 2,565 units, taking the first four brands to 31,466 units. The remaining six manufacturers combined for 4,311 units, placing the bulk of October 2026 electric vehicle sales in the hands of a small group at the top of the ranking.
