Top 10 Car Brands Oct 2026 – Maruti Suzuki Heads Tata, Mahindra & Hyundai

GaadiWaadi -
Maruti Suzuki topped October 2026 passenger vehicle sales at 2,11,444 units ahead of Tata Motors with just over 73,000 units, Mahindra and Hyundai
Maruti Suzuki finished October 2026 far ahead of every rival in the supplied ICE+EV sales chart, recording 2,11,444 units. Tata Motors PV took second place at 73,002 units, leaving a gap of 1,38,442 units to the leader. Mahindra ranked third at 64,248 units, and Hyundai followed at 57,883 units. The four manufacturers together delivered 4,06,577 units from the 14 brands listed in the table.
Kia and Toyota occupied the next two positions at 30,657 units and 28,323 units respectively. Only 2,334 units separated the two, creating one of the narrowest gaps among the leading manufacturers. The drop after Toyota was much larger, as Skoda Volkswagen recorded 9,083 units. MG came next at 7,014 units, keeping both brands below the 10,000-unit level during the month.
Honda recorded 5,429 units and placed ninth, followed by Renault at 3,491 units to close the top 10. Nissan narrowly missed a top-10 position at 3,257 units, just 234 units behind Renault. VinFast posted 2,565 units, Stellantis recorded1,077 units and BYD completed the 14-brand list at 735 units.

Maruti Suzuki alone sold nearly three times as many vehicles as second-placed Tata Motors PV. Tata, Mahindra and Hyundai formed a separate group between 57,000 and 73,000 units, far below Maruti but well ahead of Kia and Toyota. Sales then fell below five figures from seventh place onward, creating a clear split between the first six manufacturers and the rest of the table.
Tata Motors PV finished 8,754 units ahead of Mahindra, and Mahindra held a 6,365-unit advantage over Hyundai. Hyundai in turn sold 27,226 more vehicles than Kia. Those gaps show how widely separated the first five positions were in October, even before the sharp fall between Toyota and Skoda Volkswagen is considered.

The lower half produced much tighter contests. MG finished 1,585 units ahead of Honda, and Honda led Renault by 1,938 units. Renault and Nissan were separated by only 234 units, leaving Nissan just outside the top 10. VinFast stayed 692 units behind Nissan, followed by a much larger drop to Stellantis and BYD.
Sales across all 14 manufacturers shown in the supplied table reached 4,98,208 units. Maruti Suzuki contributed more than two-fifths of that tally, and the top four crossed 4.06 lakh units. Kia and Toyota added another 58,980 units, leaving the remaining eight manufacturers below 33,000 units combined during October 2026.
