Hyderabad: A dairy farm at Kardanoor village in Patancheru was allegedly being used as a ganja distribution point for migrant labourers, with the EAGLE Force and Patancheru police arresting two interstate drug peddlers and apprehending four consumers.

During a raid on Govind Rao Dairy Farm on Saturday, EAGLE sleuths seized 1.150 kg of ganja worth Rs.57,000. The arrested persons were identified as Sanchit Roy (50), an employee at the farm, and Mahesh Kumar (32), a security guard at a parking yard opposite the premises. Both hail from Bihar. Their alleged supplier, Kishan Singh of Dhoolpet, is absconding.

According to the police, Sanchit had been working at the farm for three years. He allegedly began procuring ganja from Kishan Singh, whom he met while working at Gummadidala, and selling it to migrant workers in the surrounding areas. Mahesh had been assisting him for the past year.

The duo allegedly purchased ganja at Rs.20,000 per kg, packed it into five-gram sachets and sold each for Rs.300. They reportedly procured one to two kg two or three times a week.

The police said Sanchit had become familiar to local consumers, with 20 to 30 people approaching him daily and the number rising to 50 to 60 on Sundays. Customers contacted him by phone and collected the packets at a roadside location near the farm, paying in cash.

Four consumers were apprehended during the raid, while around 10 others were identified. A case was registered.
