Next-Gen Hyundai Creta Spied In Low Spec Trim

GaadiWaadi -
All-new Hyundai Creta could be launched in the second quarter of 2027, and it will be positioned above the Hyundai Bayon
With the Bayon on sale now, Hyundai’s next major product action in the mid-size SUV segment will be the launch of the third-generation Creta. The company is rigorously testing the next generation of its best-selling car in India, both locally and in South Korea. This will be the mid-size SUV’s most comprehensive upgrade since its debut in 2015.
Recently, Team-BHP forum member phamilyman spotted a heavily camouflaged test mule of the next-gen Hyundai Creta near Gurugram. Unlike most previous sightings, this one showed the upcoming SUV in its lower trims, featuring what looked like 16-inch steel wheels with covers similar to the 18-inch alloy wheels of the Ioniq XRT sold internationally.
While some publications have reported the recently sighted test mule being in the base trim, we think the lowest grade is likely to come with 16-inch steel wheels without covers. Middle trims should feature 17-inch alloy wheels and higher trims should upgrade to 18-inch alloy wheels. In Europe, where the same model will be launched as the third-gen Kona, 19-inch alloy wheels will also be offered.

The next-gen Hyundai Creta will have a visibly more rugged and high-tech exterior design, with some inspiration expected to come from the Hyundai Crater concept. It will be about 100 mm longer, measuring around 4.5 metres. The significantly larger footprint is expected to bring noticeable improvements in rear-seat space and luggage capacity.
The interior will also be completely new, incorporating a new layout that debuted in the Ioniq 3 and is now seen even in the new Grandeur and all-new Tucson. In India, the Ioniq P will be the first to implement the new look, and it will come with a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. In the next-gen Creta, Hyundai should offer the same digital instrument cluster, but along with a choice of 12.9- and 14.6-inch touchscreen infotainment systems. A gesture-controlled power tailgate and a dual wireless smartphone charger may also be among the tech upgrades.

Hyundai will likely offer the next-gen Creta with 1.2-litre turbocharged and 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine options. We expect prices to start between Rs. 11 and 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom). A hybrid system based on the 1.5-litre engine should follow a few months later.
