Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 Cruiser Debuts, India Launch Soon

The Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 uses a familiar 440 cc single-cylinder engine and boasts an 187 kg kerb weight, 671 mm seat height and a 3.5-inch colour TFT
The 187 kg ready-to-ride weight and notably low 671 mm seat height immediately distinguish the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 from the company larger motorcycles. The new model runs a 440 cc air and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 27 hp at 6,000 rpm and 38 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Furthermore, the 9-litre fuel tank accompanies a claimed economy figure of up to 34 km/l. The Sprint 440 will make its public debut at EICMA 2026 before global dealer sales commence.
The chassis combines a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel for a distinctly cruiser-influenced stance. The front suspension consists of 43 mm inverted forks and offers 130 mm of travel. Meanwhile, twin piggyback rear shock absorbers provide 76 mm of wheel travel plus seven-step preload adjustment. The front brake runs a 320 mm disc and two-piston caliper. The rear gets a 240 mm disc and single-piston caliper, while ABS comes as standard.
The visual treatment stays recognisably Harley-Davidson despite the smaller dimensions. The suspended round headlamp sits neatly ahead of the sculpted fuel tank. Meanwhile, the bobbed rear fender and fastback saddle establish a familiar cruiser profile. The 10-spoke cast aluminium wheels add machined details, and an orange tank graphic appears across all three announced colours. Dark Billiard Gray serves as the base colour alongside Vivid Black and Teal Thunder.

The engine architecture centres heavily on low-rpm torque. The 79.6 mm bore works alongside an 88.4 mm stroke, while the compression ratio stands at 9.65:1. The single overhead camshaft operates one intake and one exhaust valve. Electronic fuel injection manages fuelling, and a gear-driven counter-balancer reduces primary vibration. Furthermore, the six-speed transmission gets overdrive ratios in fifth and sixth gears. The assist-and-slip clutch also reduces lever effort and supports smoother downshifts.
The technology section is relatively focused. The round instrument housing contains a 3.5-inch colour TFT above the handlebar. The screen displays speed, engine rpm, odometer information, trip data and warning symbols. Meanwhile, LED lighting comes as standard across the motorcycle. The USB-C charging port sits above the headlamp and provides power for personal devices. The combination keeps the cockpit visually traditional yet adds the functions expected from a current road motorcycle.

The Sprint 440 was jointly designed and engineered by Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp. The United States will receive the motorcycle in spring 2027, and final assembly there will take place at Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, other countries will receive separate launch schedules according to local plans. The collaboration places the Sprint 440 in a distinctly smaller displacement class than the larger motorcycles normally associated with the American manufacturer.
The accessory catalogue adds multiple options for rider fit, luggage and protection. The Tallboy seat moves the rider approximately 51 mm higher and 64 mm rearward, while the Reach seat positions the rider around 25 mm farther forward. Furthermore, Harley-Davidson offers textile saddlebags, a passenger backrest, alternative footpegs, bar-end mirrors, hand grips, a flatter Moto handlebar, tubular engine protection and a detachable windshield. Individual market pricing and availability will be announced separately.
