Srinagar- A medical student from Dangerpora area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district was found dead in Bangladesh, leaving his family in shock.

The family said that Adnan had travelled to Bangladesh around 15 days ago along with his mother and was scheduled to appear in his first examination of the final semester.

The family said they lost contact with him two days ago and were subsequently informed that he was missing. “We were informed on Tuesday evening that our beloved family member had been found dead near a water body,” a family member said, as per news agency KNO.

The deceased was identified as Adnan Ahmed Rather, son of Mohammad Altaf Rather, who was pursuing MBBS in Bangladesh and was in the final semester of his course.

The family appealed to the Government of India to intervene, coordinate with the authorities in Bangladesh and ensure that Adnan’s mortal remains are brought back home at the earliest.
