Yemen’s Houthi movement on Wednesday, November 4, claimed responsibility for a fresh missile attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, alleging significant damage and casualties.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree announced the operation in a statement on X, saying the group’s forces had launched ballistic missiles at the airport and hit their intended target.

Saree also warned international airlines, airport employees and travellers against using Saudi airspace, describing it as unsafe, except over Makkah and Madinah.

Saudi Civil Defence issues alerts in Jizan, Najran

Separately, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence issued warnings through the National Early Warning Platform in Jizan and Najran provinces on Wednesday, alerting residents to potential danger.

The authority instructed people to move indoors, seek shelter away from windows and follow safety directions. Motorists were advised to stop in safe locations away from bridges and tall buildings if they received an alert while driving.

Subsequent notifications announced that the danger had passed in both provinces. Civil Defence urged residents to continue observing safety precautions and refrain from gathering at affected sites or recording footage.

Houthis claim three operations in Jizan, Najran

In a separate statement, Saree outlined three operations that he said targeted Saudi military installations.

He claimed a drone was deployed against a radar facility on the Al-Qahmah Peninsula, north of Jizan. A ballistic missile was directed at the Aakefah camp in Najran, while another targeted a Border Guard command and control facility in Jizan.

Saree alleged that the operations resulted in deaths and injuries among Saudi military personnel.

Telangana man dies after Riyadh airport attack

The developments come as Sheikh Saeed, a 36-year-old man from Kamareddy district in Telangana, died on Tuesday, November 3, after sustaining critical injuries in the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport.

Saeed had been receiving treatment at King Fahd Armed Forces Hospital in Riyadh. He was a resident of Saini Baba Colony in Kamareddy and had worked at a Starbucks outlet at the airport. His family has been informed that he will be buried in Saudi Arabia.

Escalation of Houthi attacks

The latest claims come amid an escalation of Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia since July 2026, which intensified in October. Missile and drone launches have reportedly targeted airports, oil infrastructure and military installations across the Kingdom.

The developments have also coincided with intensified fighting between the Houthis and Saudi-backed forces in southwestern Yemen, particularly in Taiz province and areas surrounding the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition supporting Yemen‘s internationally recognised government since March 2015, following the Houthis’ seizure of Sanaa and other parts of the country in September 2014.
