Toyota will introduce its revised Innova Hycross premium MPV on November 25 as road tests indicate styling changes and a host of interior enhancements
Toyota has been testing the Innova Hycross facelift on Indian roads for months and the manufacturer has confirmed November 25, 2026 as its launch date as we speculated earlier. The MPV debuted in India towards the end of 2022 and is set to receive its first substantial revision. Interestingly, the Indian model could receive more extensive exterior changes than the recently updated Indonesian version which gained interior upgrades without a major styling revision.
The existing Innova Hycross uses two petrol powertrains – both employing 2.0-litre four-cylinder engines. The naturally aspirated petrol develops 173 hp and uses a CVT automatic transmission. The petrol-electric hybrid produces a combined 184 hp and uses an e-CVT. Both powertrains are expected to be retained for the facelift. The current ARAI-certified mileage figures stand at 16.13 kmpl for the petrol and 23.24 kmpl for the hybrid.
The test vehicles reveal noticeable revisions to the exterior mainly around the front fascia. The grille has a wider and more angular design complemented by slimmer projector headlamps and a redesigned bumper. Speculations also indicate pixel-like LED fog lamps, revised alloy wheels and altered rear lamp graphics. The side profile retains the familiar window outline, roofline and overall proportions of the existing MPV.

The Innova Hycross already offers a considerable amount of equipment in its top-spec trims. The list consists of a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable seating and powered ottoman seats for second-row passengers. Toyota Safety Sense driver assistance is also available on selected variants. The facelift could revise the equipment distribution between trims alongside changes to the cabin materials and upholstery.
A recent update to the Kijang Innova Zenix in Indonesia provides an indication of the possible cabin revisions for our local market. The Indonesian hybrid now gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster replacing the earlier analogue arrangement. The top-spec versions also use a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen instead of the previous 10.1-inch display while the petrol variants receive a smaller 7-inch instrument screen. Toyota could introduce similar displays in India alongside revised infotainment software and interior colour choices.

The hybrid powertrain could also receive modifications for increased ethanol compatibility. Toyota previously demonstrated a flex-fuel Innova Hycross prototype capable of operating on petrol blends containing up to 85 per cent ethanol. The experimental vehicle used a modified 2.0-litre Atkinson cycle petrol engine and an electric motor. Reports suggest the production facelift could support E30 petrol or a higher ethanol concentration potentially becoming the first mass-market flex-fuel hybrid of its type in India.
The revised Innova Hycross is expected to cost between Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 35 lakh (ex-showroom) and tts closest rival will be the Maruti Suzuki Invicto which shares the same monocoque architecture and petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain. Toyota also sells the diesel-powered Innova Crysta In India but it will be phased out in the near future.
