Islamabad: For nearly three years, fans of Pakistani television’s popular drama Tere Bin have been waiting to see their favourite on-screen couple, Wahaj Ali and Yumna Zaidi, reunite as Murtasim and Meerab. Ever since the makers announced the second season in 2023, expectations around the sequel have continued to grow, with fans eagerly waiting for an update.

However, there seems to be disappointing news for all Tere Bin lovers. The much-awaited sequel, Tere Bin 2, starring Wahaj Ali and Yumna Zaidi, is reportedly unlikely to move forward.

Popular Pakistani drama critic Sheeba Khan has shared an update suggesting that the sequel may not happen. According to her, Geo Entertainment and 7th Sky Entertainment have parted ways, raising questions about the future of Tere Bin 2, especially since the original series was produced under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment.

The development has sparked discussions among fans, who have been waiting for the return of Murtasim and Meerab on television. However, it is important to note that there has been no official announcement confirming the cancellation of Tere Bin 2. The update is currently based on Sheeba Khan’s claims, and fans are still waiting for clarity from the makers.

When Wahaj Ali confirmed the sequel

In June 2025, Wahaj Ali addressed the growing curiosity around Tere Bin 2 during an event and spoke about the sequel. He revealed that the makers were putting considerable effort into the script, given the immense love the original drama had received.

Speaking about the project, the actor said, “Itni mohabbat aur pyaar jo society se mujhe milta hai, usko return karna important hota hai. Usike baare mein sonchta rehta hun, fikarmand rehta hun. Isiliye Tere Bin 2 ka jo script hai uspe zyada mehnat horahi hai.”

His statement had further raised expectations among fans, who believed that the second season was moving ahead.

Tere Bin’s massive success

Starring Wahaj Ali as Murtasim and Yumna Zaidi as Meerab, Tere Bin premiered on December 28, 2022, and concluded on July 6, 2023, after 58 episodes.

Produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under 7th Sky Entertainment and directed by Siraj-ul-Haque, the drama became a massive success, crossing 5 billion views on YouTube and emerging as one of the most-watched Pakistani dramas.

Even years after its original telecast, Tere Bin continues to enjoy immense popularity. Its first episode alone has crossed 100 million views on YouTube, highlighting the show’s lasting appeal among audiences.

With the latest update creating uncertainty around its sequel, fans are understandably disappointed. For now, all eyes are on the makers and the actors for an official announcement about the future of Tere Bin 2.
