The Dhanteras delivery event earns an Asia Book of Records title, as Vida reports an 80 per cent YoY increase in October retail registrations

Hero MotoCorp electric mobility brand Vida has secured an Asia Book of Records title after delivering more than 600 VX2 electric scooters in Jaipur on Dhanteras. The customer handovers took place at a single Vida centre in one day, earning recognition for the highest number of electric scooters delivered in a day in a single city. The record comes at a time when the manufacturer has recorded a substantial increase in electric two-wheeler sales.

The October 2026 sales figures provide further context for the Jaipur achievement. Vida recorded an 80 per cent year-on-year increase in VAHAN retail registrations, while its electric two-wheeler market share rose to 13.6 per cent from 11.1 per cent in October 2025. The difference amounts to 2.5 percentage points. Hero MotoCorp also reported 30,143 Vida scooter dispatches for October, a separate figure from customer retail registrations.

The VX2 is available in five configurations: Go 2.2kWh, Go 3.1 FB, Go 3.4kWh, Plus 3.4kWh, and Plus 4.4kWh. The IDC-certified riding range varies between 92km and 187km, depending on battery capacity. The Go 3.1 FB offers a fixed battery and direct plug-in charging, while removable battery arrangements are available on other versions. The different configurations cater to customers who have access to home charging as well as those who require removable batteries.

The VX2 uses an electric motor capable of producing 6kW, equivalent to around 8hp, and 26Nm of torque. The Plus 4.4kWh variant has a claimed maximum speed of 90kmph, while the Plus 3.4kWh reaches 80kmph. The Go 2.2kWh has a lower maximum speed of 70kmph. Eco and Ride modes are offered on the Go variants, and the Plus versions also receive a Sports mode for quicker throttle response.

The equipment differs according to the chosen variant. The Plus versions have a 4.3-inch TFT instrument display, while the Go models use a 4.3-inch LCD screen. Smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and over-the-air updates are available as part of the VX2 technology options. The scooters also use a Combined Braking System, and the Go 2.2kWh offers up to 33.2 litres of storage beneath the seat. The storage capacity varies according to battery configuration.

Vida has also established a charging and maintenance network for its electric scooters. The manufacturer reports more than 6,000 fast-charging stations and over 700 service touchpoints in India. The infrastructure provides public charging access and authorised maintenance facilities for owners. The availability of these services is relevant to customers considering longer journeys or those who cannot depend entirely on charging at home.
