The new variant gets an exclusive Racing Red finish, sport suspension, Gear Shift Assistant Pro and Riding Modes Pro

BMW Motorrad India has expanded the F 450 GS range with the launch of the new Sport variant, priced at Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest version gets a sportier visual treatment and a few additional hardware and technology upgrades over the standard motorcycle, completing the F 450 GS line-up in India.

The most obvious change is the exclusive Racing Red paint scheme. The new colour highlights the familiar GS styling, while a clear Rallye windscreen and black hand protectors add to its purposeful appearance. BMW has also equipped the Sport variant with off-road footrests and a plastic engine guard, giving it a more adventure-focused look.

There are some meaningful additions beyond the cosmetic changes, too. The F 450 GS Sport gets Sport Suspension, which BMW says is aimed at improving performance and riding enjoyment. It also comes with Gear Shift Assistant Pro for clutchless gear changes and Riding Modes Pro, offering greater flexibility across different riding conditions.

The mechanical package remains unchanged. The F 450 GS is powered by a newly developed 420 cc-class, two-cylinder inline engine producing 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox and is designed to offer a balance of performance for city use, highway touring and off-road riding.

The motorcycle also retains its existing electronic rider aids, including ABS Pro, Dynamic Traction Control, Dynamic Brake Control and Engine Drag Control. A 6.5-inch TFT display with a multi-controller provides access to riding information and connectivity functions.

The distinctive X-shaped LED headlamp, signature GS beak and characteristic flyline continue to define its appearance. BMW also offers a range of optional accessories, including protection components, luggage solutions and navigation equipment.

The BMW F 450 GS Sport is priced at Rs 5.90 lakh (ex-showroom). BMW India Financial Services is offering customised finance options, with monthly instalments starting at Rs 9,999. The motorcycle gets a standard three-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty, with the option to extend coverage into the fourth and fifth years. Roadside assistance is also included.

With the Sport variant, BMW adds a more performance-oriented option to its entry-level GS family. The additional suspension and shifting hardware should appeal to riders who intend to use the motorcycle beyond regular road riding. At the same time, the Racing Red finish gives it a more distinctive identity within the range.
