Hyundai Bayon is offered in seven trims from HX2 to HX10, with iVT starting from HX5 and Level 2 Pro ADAS reserved for HX10

Hyundai offers the brand new Bayon in HX2, HX3, HX3+, HX5, HX6, HX8 and HX10 trims in India. The first three are manual-only and the iVT becomes available from HX5. The features list rises substantially through the range – six airbags and a digital instrument cluster on HX2 to dual 12.3-inch displays, generative AI, Bose audio and Level 2 Pro ADAS on HX10.

The HX8 stands out as our preferred all-round best variant based purely on equipment. It gets front and side parking sensors, 360-degree camera, rear disc brakes, dashcam, ventilated front seats, powered driver adjustment, leatherette upholstery, split-folding rear seats and two-step rear recline. The HX8 iVT also gets an electronic parking brake and auto hold.

Variant prices are not listed yet and thus a value-for-money verdict cannot be established from equipment alone. The HX10 is the choice for customers who want the maximum technology available in the Bayon. It upgrades the displays to dual 12.3-inch units, gets the 12.3-inch ccNC navigation system, NVIDIA acceleration, generative AI voice assistance and Bose eight-speaker audio. Hyundai SmartSense Level 2 Pro ADAS is also reserved for this trim and the iVT version gets the full navigation-based cruise and Highway Driving Assist suite.

The lower grades are not bare-bones variants. The HX2 already has six airbags, ESC, VSM, hill-start assist, rear parking sensors, highline TPMS, ISOFIX, LED headlamps, LED DRLs, LED tail lamps, rear AC vents and tilt and telescopic steering. The HX3 then introduces the rear camera, smart key, 10.25-inch infotainment unit, wireless smartphone projection and extra audio hardware.

The HX3+ primarily targets customers who want a little more visual equipment and an electric sunroof without moving farther up the range. The HX5 is the more substantial step because it opens the iVT option and introduces automatic climate control, Bluelink, controller OTA updates, wireless charging, cruise control and electrically folding mirrors. The paddle shifters and drive modes are restricted to HX5 iVT and higher automatic trims.

The HX6 moves further into the premium equipment set through dual LED projector headlamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, leatherette trim for the steering wheel and gear knob, a sliding front armrest and rear wiper. Meanwhile,. the HX8 then concentrates on parking assistance, seat comfort, rear-seat flexibility and braking hardware before HX10 shifts the emphasis towards advanced electronics and driver assistance.

Mechanically, the range gets the 1.5-litre four-cylinder MPi petrol engine rated at 115 PS and 143.8 Nm. The SUV measures 4,245 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,605 mm tall, has a 2,600 mm wheelbase and offers 505 litres of boot capacity. Below, we have listed the variant-wise features:
