Hyderabad: Demanding a comprehensive inquiry into certificates submitted by contract junior lecturers for their jobs regularisation in the government junior colleges, Students Federation of India (SFI) Telangana committee staged a protest at Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TG BIE) here on Tuesday.

According to SFI Telangana committee president S Rajnikanth, 3,800 contract junior lecturers working in the government junior colleges were regularised in 2023. Of these, 35 individuals have already been dismissed after it was found that they had submitted fake certificates.

He alleged that another 700 to 800 individuals might have secured regularisation by submitting fake PG certificates from universities in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.

Further, the SFI demanded that private and corporate junior colleges, which violate regulations and jeopardize the future of their students, be identified and subjected to legal action. They wanted immediate intervention against any colleges enrolling students without affiliation.

SFI state Vice-President D Kiran, State Girls’ Convener Mamata, Secretariat member G. Karthik, State Committee members Lenin Guevara and Ramesh, as well as student activists Nagender, Bhagat, Arjun, Vardhan, Neeraj, Shyam, Ajay, Kaushik, and Bharat among others also participated.
