Section 163 of the BNSS has been imposed outside Jamia Millia Islamia ahead of a protest call by left groups. Heavy security has been deployed as students demand the restoration of student union elections, which have not been held since 2006. The university administration has warned protesters to vacate Ghalib Lawn.
