Two students injured as classroom roof collapses at Khammam residential school

Khammam: Two students were seriously injured when chunks of a classroom roof fell on them at SC Girls’ Residential School at Bonakal mandal headquarters of the district on Saturday.

The Class IX students, Ch. Pujitha of Chirunomula village and Addanki Keerthana of Nagilgonda, sustained head injuries in the incident while attending classes in the classroom.

The school staff immediately took them to the local PHC and later shifted them to the Government General Hospital in Khammam for further treatment. The students said that the roof slab had been deteriorating in six rooms of the school for the last few years.
