Technical UPI declines rise to 0.24% among top 20 banks in September

More UPI payments failed because of technical problems in September. The rate of such failures rose to 0.24% among the 20 largest remitter banks, from 0.18% in August, according to the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) data.
These problems include bank servers being unavailable and network failures on the bank or NPCI’s side. Business declines, which include payments rejected because of an incorrect PIN or transaction limits, also increased slightly. Their rate rose from 10.85% in August to 10.88% in September.
The 20 banks handled 23.47 billion transactions in September, down from 23.92 billion in August. These figures cover only the 20 banks, not the entire UPI network.
