Nazriya Nazim rejected me three times: Actor Suriya

Hyderabad: Over the years, several actors have turned down big film offers for various reasons, ranging from scheduling conflicts and creative differences to personal choices. While some rejections have sparked controversies, others have simply been a matter of an actor choosing what works best for their career.
And now, one such interesting story has come to light involving Tamil superstar Suriya and actress Nazriya Nazim. The actor has revealed that he had approached Nazriya for three of his earlier films, but the actress turned down all the offers before finally agreeing to work with him in their upcoming film Scene.
Suriya reveals Nazriya rejected 3 film offers
Speaking at a promotional event in Hyderabad, Suriya revealed that he had wanted to share screen space with Nazriya for a long time. However, getting the actress on board took more than one attempt.
Recalling their earlier conversations, the actor said that Nazriya had rejected three of his film offers before agreeing to be part of director Jithu Madhavan’s upcoming project Scene.
“I have always wanted to work with Nazriya. We had asked her to act in three of my films earlier, but she rejected them. It was only on the fourth attempt that she agreed,” Suriya said, as quoted by The Times of India.
The actor also spoke about his admiration for Nazriya’s confidence and the way she makes decisions about her career.
Suriya admires actress’ career choices
Suriya revealed that Nazriya had turned down several Tamil film offers over the last 12 years. However, the actor did not view her decisions as missed opportunities.
Instead, he appreciated the clarity with which she chose her projects and expressed respect for her confidence in following her own path.
Nazriya, who has largely stayed away from Tamil cinema for nearly 12 years, is now set to make an important return to the industry with Scene.
Nazriya Nazim’s return to Tamil cinema
After her marriage to actor Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya largely focused on Malayalam cinema, staying away from Tamil films for an extended period.
Although she continued to entertain audiences through Malayalam projects, she did not take up any Tamil films during this time. Her last Tamil release was the romantic film Thirumanam Enum Nikkah, directed by Anees, which hit theatres in 2014.
Now, with Scene, Nazriya is all set to return to Tamil cinema alongside Suriya. The upcoming film is directed by Jithu Madhavan, who is known for his work in Malayalam cinema.
While Suriya’s revelation about Nazriya rejecting three of his earlier films has certainly caught attention, the collaboration has also raised expectations among fans who are eager to see the two actors share screen space for the first time.
