The Men's Selection Committee accepted his request accordingly and processed the withdrawal on Sunday, November 8, confirming the change to India A's squad for the upcoming ACC Rising Stars Asia Cup which gets under way in Doha, Qatar, from November 19 to November 29.

Delhi-based all-rounder Ayush Badoni has been added to the squad in Patidar's place. In a separate decision announced alongside the withdrawal, the Men's Selection Committee has named Rinku Singh as vice-captain of the India A side for the tournament. Tilak Varma continues as captain.

The board accepted his request and made the necessary changes to the squad. The specific nature and severity of his injuries were not disclosed in the official announcement, and no further medical detail has been made available.
