Hyderabad: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has advised people of all age groups to update their Aadhaar details once every five years to ensure their information remains current.

UIDAI Nizamabad district operations manager Lakavath Suresh told Deccan Chronicle that Aadhaar cards did not have an expiry date. However, he stressed the need to regularly update biometric and iris information.

He said UIDAI was organising awareness programmes in educational institutions and other locations to educate people about Aadhaar-related services.

He also encouraged citizens to visit Aadhaar Seva Kendras to access the available services.

Suresh also highlighted the importance of enrolling newborn children for Aadhaar. He said providing a name was compulsory during enrolment and advised parents to finalise their child’s name before birth.
