Man held for cheating woman of Rs 4.5 lakh, sexually assaulting her in Ghatkesar

Hyderabad: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly cheated of Rs 4.5 lakh and sexually assaulted by a man who promised to secure her a government job in Ghatkesar on the city suburb.
The complainant, a tailoring worker residing in Mallapur, became acquainted with the suspect Jagan Mohan, a native of Bhongir, around four months ago.
Jagan Mohan allegedly introduced himself as a sanitation manager working at a municipal office and promised to arrange a government job for her in the same office. He reportedly demanded Rs 5 lakh, claiming that the money was required to be paid to a senior official to secure the appointment.
Trusting his assurances, the woman allegedly paid him Rs 4.5 lakh in the hope of getting the job.
On Monday, Jagan Mohan arrived in a car and told her that he would take her to the municipal office. Instead, he allegedly took her to a resort. During the journey, he took the Rs 4.5 lakh from her and claimed that a senior official was waiting inside the resort. He then allegedly took her into a room and sexually assaulted her.
After the incident, Jagan Mohan allegedly made the woman get into his car, drove her to a highway and pushed her out of the vehicle before fleeing the spot.
Following the woman’s complaint, Ghatkesar police registered a case and took Jagan Mohan into custody. He was remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is on.
