JKSSB Announces 458 JE Civil Posts in Jal Shakti, R&B Departments

Srinagar- The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has advertised 458 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) in the Jal Shakti and Public Works (Roads and Buildings) departments, a day after the expansion of the Omar Abdullah-led Council of Ministers.
According to the recruitment notification, 282 posts are available in the Jal Shakti Department and 176 in the Public Works Department.
The online application process will begin on November 30 and conclude on December 29, the notification said.
The posts carry Pay Level 6, with a salary scale ranging from Rs 35,400 to Rs 1,12,400.
Candidates holding a three-year diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institute, a degree in Civil Engineering or an AMIE qualification in Sections A and B, subject to the prescribed conditions, are eligible to apply.
Applicants must be domiciles of Jammu and Kashmir and possess a valid domicile certificate by the last date for submission of applications.
The maximum age limit for candidates under the Open Merit category is 40 years as of January 1, 2026. The upper age limit is 43 years for several reserved categories and 42 years for persons with benchmark disabilities, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
The selection process will be based on merit in a written or OMR-based examination comprising objective-type multiple-choice questions in English. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
The application fee has been fixed at Rs 600, while candidates belonging to the SC, ST-1, ST-2, EWS and persons with benchmark disabilities categories will have to pay Rs 500.
The examination schedule and centres will be announced separately on the JKSSB’s official website, www.jkssb.nic.in.
Candidates have been advised to carefully review the eligibility criteria and ensure that all required certificates are valid and submitted in the prescribed format.
