Opposition Showdown: INDIA Alliance Prepares for Major Protest at Ramlila Maidan

Opposition leaders are preparing for a major political demonstration at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan as part of the INDIA alliance’s campaign against alleged irregularities in the electoral process and the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). At Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence, Lok Sabha MP Sukhdev Bhagat was seen holding a poster demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Referring to the previous day’s mock Parliament, Bhagat said the Opposition had unanimously passed a symbolic public impeachment resolution against the CEC. He alleged that the Election Commission had undermined public trust in elections and criticised the political leadership over what he described as betrayal of voters. Bhagat claimed that a large number of people from different parts of the country would gather at Ramlila Maidan, insisting that the protest represented more than the voice of political parties. He said opposition leaders would first assemble at Constitution Club before proceeding to Ramlila Maidan. The report also mentions the BJP’s position that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would not attend the rally. The gathering is expected to be a major show of opposition strength and unity.
