The ground-up Hero adventure motorcycle uses a 421 cc DOHC engine kicking out 46 hp and 38 Nm; gets 225 mm front suspension travel, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity
Hero MotoCorp has unveiled the Xpulse 450 at EICMA 2026 after prototypes underwent extensive testing in India ahead of the production bike debut for several months. The motorcycle now takes the top position in the Xpulse range and becomes Hero MotoCorp highest output production model. Development started from a new adventure motorcycle architecture and Hero MotoSports Team Rally provided direct technical input during the project.
The suspension specification is one of the biggest departures from the smaller Xpulse motorcycles. The front uses a 43 mm KYB upside-down cartridge fork offering 225 mm of travel. Riders can select from 22 settings for compression damping and another 22 settings for rebound damping. The adjustment range is designed to deal with impacts away from tarmac and provide greater control across changing terrain.
The EICMA motorcycle also shows how far the Xpulse design has changed for the larger-capacity model. The white bodywork carries red and black graphics plus oversized Xpulse 450 lettering across the side section. The front gets a tall transparent windscreen, hand guards and a high-set cockpit while the wire-spoke wheel uses a gold-finished rim. The large radiator, sculpted tank area, long seat and exposed lower mechanical sections create noticeably larger proportions than the Xpulse 210.

The 421 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine produces 46 hp at 9,100 rpm and 38 Nm at 7,500 rpm. A four-valve DOHC cylinder head is part of the new engine. Power reaches the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission and an assist and slipper clutch comes as standard. The figures put a substantial performance gap between the Xpulse 450 and Hero’s small capacity 210 cc sibling
The technology bits confirm Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility which Hero describes as a category-first feature. Smartphone integration becomes a central part of the Xpulse 450 digital interface and provides direct connectivity between the motorcycle and compatible devices. The Xpulse 450 also draws directly from Hero MotoSports Team Rally development work. The factory rally team supplied technical input during development and the production motorcycle was conceived for tarmac as well as off-road riding from the start.

The Xpulse 450 will be sold in India and international markets. It joins the Xpulse 200, Xpulse 210 Dakar Edition and Xpulse 210 MX but occupies a substantially higher performance position through its 46 hp engine and more advanced features list.
