The five launches comprise a NU_IQ model, an INGLO electric SUV, the Scorpio Lifestyler, a significant model revision and a new light commercial vehicle

Mahindra has confirmed five new model launches for the first half of 2027 as the manufacturer prepares to introduce new SUVs and commercial vehicles. Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO of the Auto and Farm Sectors, outlined the plans at the Q2 FY27 media briefing. The schedule consists of the first production model on the NU_IQ architecture, an entirely new INGLO electric vehicle and the Scorpio Lifestyler pickup. A substantial revision to an existing vehicle and a new light commercial vehicle are also scheduled before the end of June 2027.

The Scorpio Lifestyler is the only new passenger vehicle among these five whose production identity has been officially confirmed. Mahindra unveiled the pickup this past August and announced a launch by April 2027. Prices will start below Rs. 19.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Jejurikar also confirmed that the Lifestyler will be registered as a personal vehicle using a white number plate. Its upright front fascia, separate cargo bed and Scorpio styling distinguish it from the regular Scorpio N and it will be powered by a diesel mill.

The first NU_IQ production vehicle could be derived from the Vision S concept unveiled in August 2025. Test vehicles believed to be based on the concept have been spotted repeatedly on Indian roads. The prototypes feature a boxy body, short overhangs, flush door handles and an externally mounted spare wheel. A panoramic sunroof has also been spotted and we expect the production Vision S to sit between XUV 3XO and Scorpio N. The NU_IQ monocoque architecture supports petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric powertrains.

The second new vehicle will use the dedicated INGLO electric architecture. The BE 07 is a possible candidate as prototypes believed to belong to the model have already undergone road testing. Earlier images revealed a cabin featuring three dashboard screens and a large central console and it will design will be heavily influenced by the concept as well. The SUV could share the 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery options available on existing INGLO vehicles such as the BE 6.

The significant model revision is another interesting part of the announcement as Mahindra already introduced updates for the Scorpio N and the Thar OG in 2026. The Thar Roxx is one possibility after recent test sightings indicated changes to the suspension and alloy wheels. However, Mahindra has not connected those prototypes to its 2027 product calendar. The fifth launch will be a new light commercial vehicle and the company recently introduced an updated Veero.

Mahindra is also increasing production capacity at its Chakan manufacturing facility ahead of these introductions. Jejurikar confirmed that the company expects to establish approximately 8,000 units of additional monthly NU_IQ capacity by February or March 2027. Electric vehicle manufacturing capacity will rise by another 4,000 units per month to 12,000 units. The company has also acquired the initial parcel of land for its Nagpur manufacturing project and has begun execution work at the site. The new manufacturing investments come after Mahindra reported sales of around 1.83 lakh SUVs in the July to September 2026 quarter.
