The production-ready TVS M1-S is equipped with a 4.2 kWh battery and it products 16.8 hp peak output; 10 to 80 per cent charging in just 75 minutes

TVS Motor has unveiled the production-spec M1-S electric maxi scooter at EICMA 2026 – one year after the concept version appeared in Milan. The model moves closer to European sales and sits beside the Orbiter and TVS X at the show. Development took place in Singapore and the M1-S uses full-size maxi-scooter proportions in addition to a low-mounted battery.

Based on Ion Mobility’s M1-S, the 4.2 kWh NMC lithium-ion battery sits low in the floorboard to reduce the centre of gravity. The maxi scooter measures 1,970 mm in length and 730 mm in width while wheelbase stands at 1,350 mm. It tips the scale at 150 kg, ground clearance at 170 mm and seat height at 800 mm and runs 14-inch wheels at both ends.

As for wheels, it uses 110/70 section 14-inch at the front and 120/70-14 at the rear. A telescopic fork handles the front suspension while dual adjustable units sit at the rear. Braking comes from 230 mm discs at both ends which are complemented by a dual-channel ABS system and tyre pressure monitoring function.

Specification TVS M1-S Motor Chassis-mounted PMSM Peak Power 16.8 hp Rated Power 6.7 hp Battery 4.2 kWh NMC lithium-ion Expected Range 120 km Top Speed 105 kmph 0-50 km/h 3.7 seconds Charging 10-80% in 75 minutes Charger Output 1.8 kW Front Tyre 110/70-14 Rear Tyre 120/70-14 Brakes 230 mm discs, front and rear ABS Dual-channel Seat Height 800 mm Ground Clearance 170 mm Kerb Weight 150 kg Under-Seat Storage 26 litres Display 7-inch TFT

The chassis mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor is good enough to develop 16.8 hp at peak and 6.7 hp on a continuous basis. The M1-S accelerates from 0 to 50 kmph in 3.7 seconds and is claimed to reach a top speed of 105 kmph. TVS expects a 120 km range under the current pre-homologation setup while cruise control is also part of the rider aid suite.

The 1.8 kW charging system takes the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in 75 minutes while power can come from a household socket via the onboard charger. The scooter also provides 26 litres of storage beneath the seat, enough for a full-face helmet, in addition to two storage areas at the front. One houses a USB-A socket and the other can carry a 500 ml bottle or smaller items.

The cockpit uses a 7-inch TFT display which enables Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and onboard LTE. Android and iOS apps provide remote seat opening, find-my-bike and service information while over-the-air software updates can be delivered remotely. Riders can start the scooter via the app or key fob and it must be noted that LED lighting comes as standard. Spectre Black has been confirmed for the launch in Europe as well. The M1-S will require an A1 license just as its Orbiter and X siblings.
